AUBREEVISION - Observations from the far side of the dial
librarians gone wild
Last night I had the delightful experience of attending friends Heather and Dave's non-traditional wedding shower. Rather than going the finger sandwiches/party games/pastel streamers route, they opted for dinner and dancing.
After a pleasant meal and gift opening, we headed to the dance floor on the restaurant's upper level for retro 80s night. Three words: librarians (namely, Heather and two colleagues) gone wild. Library science, square dance aside, is her passion; I'll never forget her straight-faced declaration that "Primary source material is cool." But her fondness for academic research and graceful do-si-do are just two of the reasons we love her.
I'm honoured to be acting as emcee at Dave and Heather's wedding next month. Oh, the material...
